Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions and answers about Web sites by Blue Springs Design.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: This is the most frequently asked question I get. While each project is different, and costs can vary depending the details, a good place to start is about $125 per page. This includes a lot of things, some you can see and some that happen behind the scenes. Keep in mind, this an estimate, not a quote. Read the next question.
Q. How much will my site cost?
A: While this sounds a lot like the first question, this is where I reply by asking about your project and what you need on your site. Then I develop a free quote and tell you EXACTLY how much your project will cost!
Q: Can I update my own site?
A: Sure! Here is the catch: You will need FTP software to download and upload the pages from the Web, and HTML editing software to make changes to the software. Some basic skills are also a must! You will need to know how to work with tables, how to create links and how to edit and insert images.
Q: What if I don't know how to update my site (or don't have time)?
A: I can take care of everything for you! After a site is finished and on the Web, I charge by the hour for maintenance. But I only bill you in 15 minutes increments and there are no extra costs just to open the site.
Q: How long does it take to build a Web site?
A: I allow 4-6 weeks from my first meeting with you to the announcement email letting you know it is ready and live! Sometimes this is shorter or longer, depending on how many projects are underway. I also realize you are busy, and if you need additional time to collect material or provide feedback, then I will be glad to extend the delivery date. So long story short - it takes as long as it needs to!
Q: Will my site be number one on Google?
A: I can't promise that you will be always be number. There is alot of science, a little bit of luck and some magic dust that goes into getting to number one. But I do incorporate techniques that help get you as high as possible. I will also give you some good tips and tricks you can use to increase your rankings. Please keep in mind it takes some time - a site launched today won't be number one tomorrow. But yes...we do have clients with a number one spot! Ask us how!!
Q: What is hosting?
A: Hosting is basically leasing a space on the Web to place your site. And yes, there are "other" alternatives. Just one of the benefits of hosting with us is that if somethings breaks or quits working, you call us - local, live people located in the Eastern time zone who responds to email and answers the phone as quickly as we can.
